Cupping

Cupping is an ancient therapy used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as massage therapy. It involves placing glass, bamboo, or silicone cups on the skin to create a vacuum or suction, which is believed to promote blood flow, release muscle tension, and improve overall health.

A vacuum is created inside the cup, typically by heating the air inside or using a pump. The cup is placed on the skin, and the suction pulls the skin and underlying tissue slightly into the cup.

Cupping is often used for pain relief, muscle recovery, improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and even for conditions like headaches, respiratory issues, and anxiety. The therapy has gained popularity in recent years, especially among athletes and people looking for alternative treatments, though scientific support for its benefits remains mixed. After treatment, the skin may show circular bruises or marks, which usually fade after a few days.
